Your starting point

Where would you like to start?

Where does care begin?

Your starting point may be prevention, a symptom, an abnormal test or an existing diagnosis. An assessment helps identify missing information and the next steps appropriate to your situation.

How do the stages connect?

Prevention, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up are aspects of care. Surgery may be part of treatment when indicated. Not everyone needs every stage or follows the same sequence.

Who coordinates care?

The Institute provides the care structure; Dr. José Reinan Ramos is its director. LUNA programmes include patient navigation, oncology nutrition, emotional support and family genetic risk assessment, according to individual needs.

When is surgery discussed?

A surgical recommendation should be understood: why surgery is proposed, what alternatives exist and what recovery may involve. Planning considers the diagnosis, extent of disease and the person’s health.

What happens after treatment?

Follow-up provides an opportunity to review recovery, questions and support needs. Bring records of previous treatment and agree an individual follow-up plan with your care team.
